About Big House 5K
The third annual Big House 5K: Trail to the Victors presented by Toyota is an exciting running event for the regional Midwest area. The 2015-16 academic year marks the 150th anniversary of intercollegiate competition at Michigan and the rich history our student-athletes and coaches have created. Beyond intercollegiate athletics, our students, faculty and staff also regularly participate in dozens of intramural, club sport and fitness activities.
The race, owned and managed by the University of Michigan Athletic Department working in conjunction with the Ann Arbor Track Club, is scheduled for Sunday, April 10, and will begin near the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus and finish on the field of the revered University of Michigan football stadium, the Big House.
In 2015, $126,000 was donated to six local, non-profit beneficiaries (2015 Race Recap). We look forward to again partnering with local beneficiaries and providing them a platform to raise awareness and funds toward their cause.
On Saturday afternoon (April 9), we invite you to pick up your race packet at Crisler Center. Race day events include only a 5K on a certified course.
The 5K race provides a scenic course, highlighting many historic U-M buildings. The course has been updated for the 2016 event. With a relatively flat course the Big House 5K is a great opportunity to set a personal-best time!
Packet pickup will take place on Saturday, April 9 (Noon-5 p.m.) and Sunday, April 10 (6-7:30 a.m.).
