Big Ten Network Student U Productions at Michigan

The Big Ten Network has invested in student production crews at each of the Big Ten schools. These crews are designed to allow students to produce their own sports broadcasts that stream live on and often re-air on the Big Ten Network.

Here at the University of Michigan, we push our crew to produce the highest quality broadcasts of Michigan sporting events that we can and have consistently been ranked as one of the top student productions in the nation. With the Student U productions here at Michigan, you as a student can gain invaluable first hand experience working on a sports broadcast that has the potential to reach over 90 million homes! Additionally, through working with our crew, students are able to gain skills and experience in business operations, as well as invaluable networking opportunities.

We believe in further developing and showcasing the talents and hard work of students interested in the broadcasting field. That is why our Student U broadcasts are COMPLETELY produced by students. Recent graduates from the Student U broadcast program have experienced great success in broadcast industries, including, ESPN, CNN, Fox Sports 1, ABC affiliates.

Interested in hands on experience in the sport broadcast industry? Apply to join the Big Ten Network Student U program! We hire students from all fields of study that have the ability to learn quickly and take on new and challenging tasks.

The requirements and benefits of being a part of Big Ten Network Student U Productions are listed below.


• Only freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply
• Cannot be a varsity athlete
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
