WARREN, Mich. -- The National Association for Business Resources announced Wednesday (Nov. 20) that the University of Michigan Athletic Department has been named among the "National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For."

"We are honored and proud to be recognized as a National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For winner," said Dave Brandon, the Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics. "There are certain characteristics that are common to all great organizations. They employ highly motivated, goal-oriented people who have talent, ambition and desire to be part of something 'bigger than themselves,' which creates a powerful, high-performance workplace culture. I am proud of our department team members who have helped us achieve the high expectations we have for our department and who 'lead by example' in every way."

The winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. They include Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Enrichment, Engagement and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment, Selection and Orientation; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity and Inclusion; Work-Life Balance; Community Initiatives; Strategic Company Performance.

With more than 10 years of experience conducting Best and Brightest Company competitions, the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) has identified numerous best HR practices and provided benchmarking for companies that continue to be leaders in employment standards.

The companies that have been selected to be recognized nationally as a "Best and Brightest Company to Work For" will be featured in the Dec. 5 online edition of Corp! Magazine. The winning companies will also receive additional recognition as a national winner at a "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" awards symposium and gala at a location of their choosing in several U.S. cities.
