Sam Piazza (April 4)
Senior CLASS Award All-American First Team
Sam Piazza became the first Michigan hockey player to earn Senior CLASS All-American honors since the awards inception in 2006. The Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character and competition.
A native of Darien, Illinois, Piazza appeared in 96 games during his time in the Maize and Blue, compiling 36 points on nine goals and 27 assists, while being a two-year alternate captain.
Mel Pearson (March 27)
Spencer Penrose Coach of the Year Finalist
• Led Michigan to a 22-14-3 overall record in his first season at the helm.
• Became the fifth coach in the last 20 seasons to lead a team to the NCAA Frozen Four in his first season.
• Looking to become the third U-M head coach to garner the yearly accolade (Vic Heyliger, 1954, and Red Berenson, 2008) given to the league's top coach.
• The winner will be announced on Wednesday, April 4, prior to the Frozen Four.
Quinn Hughes (March 7)
Big Ten Rookie of the Year Finalist
• Led all Michigan blue-liners and freshmen with 26 points (6G, 23A); ranked second amongst defensemen in the Big Ten and third amongst freshmen.
• Ranked third among Big Ten defensemen with 14 points (2G, 13A) in 23 conference games.
• Ranked ninth overall in the conference with 22 assists.
Hayden Lavigne (March 7)
Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year Finalist
• Went 16-9-3 between the pipes for U-M with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage over 29 games.
• Led the Big Ten with an .894 save percentage in conference games.
• Tied for first amongst Big Ten goaltenders with three shutouts.
Cooper Marody (March 7)
Big Ten Player of the Year Finalist
• Paced the Wolverines with 44 points (12G, 32A), which also led the Big Ten and ranked sixth in the nation.
• Earned the Big Ten scoring title after recording 27 points in 24 conference games, and paced all conference players with 21 assists.
• Marody is the third Wolverine to claim the Big Ten scoring title, joining Zach Hyman in 2015 and Kyle Connor in 2016.
Mel Pearson (March 7)
Big Ten Coach of the Year Finalist
• Led the Maize and Blue to a 20-13-3 record in his inaugural season behind the bench for U-M; a seven-win increase from the previous season.
• Michigan finished the Big Ten in third place with a 11-10-3-2 record after being predicted to finish in sixth out of seven schools in the conference.
• The Wolverines led all Big Ten schools in the second half of the conference season, going 8-3-1-1.
Tony Calderone (March 6)
NCAA First of the Week
• Recorded six points (4G, 2A) in Michigan's two-game sweep of Wisconsin in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament (March 2-3).
• Tallied first-career four-goal game and second career hat trick in U-M's 6-5 win over the Badgers on Friday night.
• Assisted on two of Michigan's seven goals on Saturday as the Wolverines earned ta 7-4 win to secure the first round sweep.
Hayden Lavigne (Feb. 20)
Big Ten First Star of the Week
• Backstopped Michigan to a weekend sweep of No. 1 Notre Dame, making 69 saves for a conference-leading .972 save percentage.
• Recorded 34 saves in a 4-2 victory on Friday (Feb. 16) at Notre Dame.
• Turned aside all 35 shots faced for his third shutout of the season on Sunday (Feb. 18) in Ann Arbor.

Jack Becker (Feb. 6)
Big Ten Third Star of the Week
• Recorded four points in the Wolverines' weekend split against Wisconsin.
• Netted his first career game-winning goal in the Wolverines' 5-3 win on Friday (Feb. 2).
• Tallied a power-play goal in the third to cut the Wolverines' deficit in half on Saturday (Feb. 3).
• Extended his goal streak to three games and his point streak to six games.

Big Ten First Star of the Week
• Backstopped Michigan to a weekend sweep of No. 12 Penn State, making 77 saves for a .975 save percentage.
• Recorded 34 saves in a 4-0 shutout on Friday (Jan. 19), which marked only the second time the Nittany Lions had been held scoreless this season.
• Registered a career-high 43 saves in the Wolverines' 3-2 win on Saturday (Jan. 20), with both goals being scored with an extra attacker on the ice. » Big Ten Release
Quinn Hughes (Jan. 22)
NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings
• Ranked as the fourth overall North American skater in NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of top prospects for the 2018 NHL Draft.
• Has recorded 14 points (1g, 13a) over 21 games this season, which is tied for the most by any Michigan defenseman.
• Hughes is looking to become the 22nd Wolverine to be drafted in the first round, with the most recent being fellow freshman Josh Norris, who was taken 19th in the 2017 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks. » NHL Release
Brendan Warren (Jan. 16)
Big Ten First Star of the Week
• Led the Wolverines to a weekend sweep of Minnesota, the first for the Wolverines at Minnesota since the 1976-77 season and the first against the Gophers since the 2014-15 campaign.
• Scored two goals in Friday's 5-3 win, including the eventual game-winner.
• Found the back of the net just 1:13 into Saturday's game to help Michigan to a 3-1 win.
