
Postgame Notes: Michigan 35, Rutgers 14

• Today's announced attendance of 111,213 marks the 278th consecutive game at Michigan Stadium with a crowd in excess of 100,000.
• Michigan improved to 3-1 in the all-time series against Rutgers and has outscored the Scarlet Knights, 162-29, over the last three meetings.
• Today marked the University of Michigan's 117th homecoming game. The Wolverines are 90-27 all-time in homecoming games and have claimed victories in 43 of their last 50, dating back to 1968.
• Eight of the 12 New Jersey natives on Michigan's roster appeared in today's game: senior FB Joe Beneducci (Far Hills), senior OL Juwann Bushell-Beatty (Paramus), sophomore DT Michael Dwumfour (Wayne), sophomore DE Rashan Gary (Plainfield), freshman DB Brad Hawkins (Pennsauken), freshman OL Cesar Ruiz (Pennsauken), junior offensive lineman Jon Runyan (Moorestown) and sophomore RB Kareem Walker (Wayne).
• Freshman defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon earned his first career start in today's contest.
• Sophomore quarterback Brandon Peters entered the game midway through the second quarter and recorded career highs in every quarterback category, completing 10-of-14 pass attempts for one touchdown and 124 passing yards. His first collegiate touchdown came on a 20-yard pass to Chris Evans in the second quarter.
• Michigan's 334 rushing yards were its most since recording 481 rushing yards at Rutgers last season (Oct. 8, 2016), while its 471 total yards were the most since registering 660 last season at Maryland (Nov. 5, 2016).
• Junior running back Karan Higdon posted the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career and second of the season with 148 yards on 18 carries. He surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards, upping his three-year total to 1,038.
• Higdon also registered his fourth career multi-touchdown effort with rushing touchdowns of 10 yards in the second quarter and 49 yards in the fourth -- the latter was the second-longest run of his career.
• Senior running back Ty Isaac posted his fourth career 100-yard rushing game -- and third of the season after posting back-to-back 100-yard efforts in the first two games of the season -- with 109 yards on 14 carries.
• It was the 40th time in program history that Michigan boasted a pair of 100-yard rushers. The last time U-M accomplished the feat was last year's Rutgers game (Oct. 8, 2016) with Chris Evans (153 yards) and Higdon (114).
• Sophomore running back Kareem Walker carried the ball six times for 34 yards and a touchdown -- career highs in all categories. He entered the game with four career carries and 15 yards. He used a five-yard rush in the third quarter to record his first collegiate touchdown.
• Fifth-year senior fullback Khalid Hill registered his 12th career rushing touchdown -- second of the season -- on a one-yard rush in the second quarter. Seven offensive linemen lined up for U-M on Hill's touchdown, with the starting unit joined by Stephen Spanellis and Cesar Ruiz.
• Sophomore running back Chris Evans recorded his first career receiving touchdown on a 20-yard reception in the second quarter. Evans, who also rushed for 29 yards vs. Rutgers, owns six rushing touchdowns in his career.
• Freshman wide receiver Nico Collins posted his first career reception on a 12-yard catch in the second quarter.
• Michigan matched a season-high with 11 tackles for loss -- for 39 yards -- with contributions from nine different players. U-M also posted 11 TFL in the season opener against Florida (Sept. 2). The Wolverines also posted five sacks -- their most in four games and matching their second most of the season.
• Sophomore defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour earned his first collegiate sack -- for a loss of five yards -- in the fourth quarter.
