She also won the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.83) and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay set a school record (3:12.21). For the weekend, she picked up seven NCAA "A" cuts (four relay, three individual).
Siobhán Haughey (Oct. 25)
Big Ten Co-Swimmer of the Week -- Haughey continued her hot start to the season, earning the weekly honor for the third time before the end of October. She shares the honor with Indiana's Lilly King. Haughey was vital in Michigan's 200-127 victory over then-No. 9 Louisville last week, winning two individual events and swimming legs on all four of the team's winning relays. She won the 200-yard freestyle with an NCAA "A" time and pool record (1:44.58) and also won the 100-yard freestyle with an NCAA "B" time and another pool record (48.23).
Siobhán Haughey (Oct. 18)
Big Ten Swimmer of the Week -- Haughey picks up the honor for the second time this season after a series of fast swims at the SMU Classic last weekend in Texas. She set a Big Ten record and lowered her previously-held school record in the 100-yard freestyle (47.22), while ascending to No. 2 on the school's all-time list in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.92) and No. 4 in the 50-yard freestyle (22.36). Haughey automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.44).
Siobhán Haughey (Oct. 4)
Big Ten Swimmer of the Week -- Haughey had a strong start to her junior season in Michigan's win over Oakland last Friday (Sept. 29), easily winning the 100-yard freestyle (48.57) and 200-yard freestyle (1:45.71), the latter coming by almost five seconds. She already has NCAA "B" times in both of those events and in the 50-yard freestyle (22.78).
