ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team will host its second-annual Social Media Day on Saturday (Jan. 6) when the Wolverines play host to Illinois at Crisler Center. The game is scheduled for a noon tip and broadcast on Big Ten Network.
Throughout the day, Michigan Athletics (umichathletics) and Michigan Basketball (umichbball) will team up its social media accounts and ramp up its coverage -- on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat -- with an increased number of photos, graphics, videos and live broadcasts.
In addition to the social media presence, the first 2,500 fans will receive a customized Wolverine player emoji rally towel, while the first 500 Maize Rage members will get a Michigan basketball emoji T-shirt and emoji big head as supplies last.
Fans are encouraged to engage their own social accounts and send photos to be displayed on the Crisler Center video board throughout the game using #CrislerLIVE. For even more photo chances, fans can stop by the social media photo booth located on the Crisler concourse by the M Den and Cazzie Russell wall.
Continuing the day's social activity, Wolverine fans can use Twitter to tweet song suggestions using #CrislerDJ.
Finally, select fans in attendance have an opportunity to receive several U-M basketball prizes including an autographed basketball by head coach John Beilein, a replica U-M basketball jersey, a $100 M Den gift card and much more.Â
