Grant Peterson is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Michigan cheer team. In his first season assisting head coach Pam St. John, the Wolverines captured the National Cheerleaders Association national championship in their division.
Peterson graduated from U-M in 2012 with a degree in General Studies focusing on financial math and actuarial science. He cheered for two years at Michigan (2010-12), including events like the 2011 Gator Bowl, 2012 Sugar Bowl, "Under the Lights I" vs. Notre Dame and the Big Chill. His previous cheer experience includes three years at North Dakota State (2004-07). Peterson originally hails from Fargo, N.D., and currently resides in Ann Arbor. He works for Total Home Lending in Livonia, Mich., as a residential loan officer. When he is not working and coaching, he enjoys rock climbing, traveling and hunting.
