Senior (2012)... Co-Captain ... Big Ten Pitcher of the Week (May 7) ... Earned the Ray Fisher (Most Valuable Player) and the Geoff Zahn Award (Most Valuable Pitcher) for U-M in 2012 ... Led Michigan in innings pitched (101.1), wins (5), earned-run average (3.91) and strikeouts (58) ... Also was tied for fourth in the Big Ten in innings pitched ... Was first in innings pitched (63.1) and complete games (4) and tied for eighth in strikeouts (40) in Big Ten games only ... Had five complete games on the season, four in Big Ten play ... Was third in the Big Ten in earned-run average (2.91) and second in opponent's batting average (.239) ... Had 46 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched ... In Big Ten games only, was second in earned-run average (2.22), seventh in opponent's batting average (.238), tied for seventh in strikeouts (36) and 10th in innings pitched (52.2) ... Pitched two complete games in wins over Illinois (April 17) and Iowa (April 24) ... In the win over the Fighting Illini, struck out nine while allowing just four hits and no runs in nine innings ... First start was against North Florida (Feb 25)... Earned the win on his next start against Eastern Michigan (Mar 17)... Struck out three and gave up two runs over 5.0 innings... Earned second win against Western Michigan (May 6)... Went a career-high 6.0 innings while striking out two and allowing no runs...
Prep ... Attended Worcester Academy (2008) ... Earned three varsity letters in baseball ... missed 13 games as a sophomore due to nose surgery ...
