Baseball Falls to Coastal Carolina

Highlights from Tuesday's 6-1 loss to Coastal Carolina.

Senior/Junior (2012)... Drove in a pair of runs with a single in the win at Penn State (April 13) ... Went 2-for-3 with a run scored against Indiana (April 29) ... In the win at Michigan State (April 7), drove in the game-winning run with a pinch-hit single ... Had a double at Penn State (April 14) ... Had a sacrifice bunt against Iona (Feb. 25) ... Drew a pair of walks at Penn State (April 13) and against Northwestern (April 21) ...

Junior/Sophomore (2011)... Played in 48 games for the Wolverines, starting 45 contests ... Made starts in seven different positions (first base, second base, shortstop, third base, left field, right field and designated hitter)... Had eight doubles, a triple, a home run and 22 RBI on the season ... In the 2-1 win over Indiana (April 2), hit a home run in the eighth inning to give U-M the lead ... Was 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI at Iowa (April 24) ... Had a career-high four hits, including a triple and an RBI, in the win over Connecticut (Feb. 20) ... Belted three hits and had a pair of RBI in the win over Illinois (April 17) ... Had eight multi-hit games and six multi-RBI performances ... Led the team with nine hit by pitches ... Had a .324 on-base percentage ... In back-to-back games against Purdue (April 10) and Bowling Green (April 12), had two hits and two RBI apiece.

Sophomore/Freshman (2010)... Played in 11 games with five starts in left field ... Had one multi-hit game ... Made collegiate debut at third base against Jacksonville State (Feb. 19)... Collected first hit against Texas Tech (Feb. 21)... Went 2-for-3 for his first career multi-hit game, including first career home run against Fordham (March 19) ... Missed final 38 games after suffering a season-ending injury vs. IPFW (March 26).

Prep ... Was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Traverse City Central high school ... Earned All-Region Dream Team honors as a sophomore ... Was named team MVP as a junior hitting .475 with eight home runs and 44 RBI while slugging .848 ... Set Traverse City Central school records as a junior in walks (38), slugging (.848), on-base percentage (.638) ... Went 7-3 with six saves and a 1.07 ERA as a pitcher, fanning 80 in just over 58 innings of work ... Earned All-Region Dream Team, All-Conference first team, All-District first team and All-Division first team honors ... Took home second team All-State accolades as a junior ... Named team captain for the second time as a senior ... Led team to best season in school history hitting 8 homers and batting .505 with 54 RBIs and 52 runs scored ...
