• Junior RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .625 (5-for-8), was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an intentional walk. O'Neill's first-inning single extended his hitting streak to six games, including the final four games of 2012.

• O'Neill has three doubles, two singles and an intentional walk in 10 plate appearances in the first two games of 2013.

• O'Neill, who has had 16 multi-hit games in each of his first two seasons at Michigan, has two this season and 34 career multi-hit games in 97 games. He has eight three-hit games as a Wolverine.

• Senior captain CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .333 (2-for-6), was 1-for-2 with a fourth-inning single to extend his team-leading hitting streak to nine games. He has hits in 20 of his last 22 games.

• Biondi reached base five times -- with a single, a walk and a fielder's choice, and he was hit by pitches twice.

• Biondi scored two runs to push his career total to 151 runs, tying him for 12th place on U-M's career runs scored list with Scott Tousa (151 runs, 1998-2001) and Jim Durham (151 runs, 1986-89).

• Freshman 2B/RHP Jacob Cronenworth, who is hitting .250 (2-for-8), stroked his first career home run, and it was the first U-M round tripper of 2013. He has hits in both games this season.

• Freshman 3B Travis Maezes, who is hitting .375 (3-for-8), extended his hitting streak to two games with a third-inning run-scoring single. Maezes was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in as he collected his first career multi-hit game.

• Freshman 1B Jack Sexton, who is hitting .111 (1-for-9), collected his first hit as a Wolverine with a second-inning single.

• Sophomore RHP James Bourque (0-0, 4.50 ERA) worked a career-best six innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs, and he matched his career-best effort with four strikeouts in his first start of 2013. Bourque held a 5-3 lead when he left the game.

• Sophomore SS Dylan Delaney, who is hitting .222 (2-for-9), was 1-for-5 with a bunt single in the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to three games.
