Michigan is 5-6 in the four years of the Big Ten-Big East Challenge. U-M was 3-0 in 2009, 1-2 in 2010, 0-3 in 2011 and 1-1 in 2012.
Senior/junior LHP Bobby Brosnahan pitched seven innings allowing four hits and a first-inning run. Brosnahan has seven career wins as a Wolverine.
Junior/sophomore LHP Logan McAnallen pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk and a hit batter as he recorded his first career save.
Junior co-captain CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .300 (3-for-10), was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, one run scored and a stolen base. Biondi, who has a three-game hitting streak, has 40 career multi-hit games.
Biondi ranks fourth on U-M's career stolen base list with 57 as he chases Steve Finken (65 steals 1986-88) for third place.
Biondi, who led the Wolverines with 36 runs scored in 2011, has scored runs in each of the first two games of 2012 and has scored 107 runs in 113 games in his Wolverine career.
Freshman LF Will Drake, who is hitting .444 (4-for-9), was 1-for-4 with a game-tying, run-scoring double in the sixth inning. He scored the winning run moments later. Drake has a pair of doubles, three runs scored and has hits in both games this season.
Senior catcher/1B Coley Crank, who had 11 putouts and an assist while making his first career start at first base, was 0-for-2, but his sixth-inning sac fly provided the game-winning run batted in. Crank is the active leader for the Wolverines with nine career 'gamers.' Crank has 109 career RBI in 147 games played at U-M.
Junior shortstop Derek Dennis, who is hitting .200 (1-for-5), collected his first hit of the season with a two-out double in the second inning .
Sophomore catcher Cole Martin was 1-for-3 in his first start of the season as he collected a third-inning single. Martin has a two-game hit streak, including a hit in his last game in 2011.
