• Florida Gulf Coast (4-4) scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to snap a 4-4 tie.

• Michigan is 0-7 for the first time since starting 0-8 in 1996.

• Freshman RF Michael O'Neill extended his team-leading hitting streak to seven games, going 2-for-5 with his team-leading third stolen base. O'Neill's run-scoring grounder in the sixth inning tied the game at 4-4. O'Neill is hitting .393 (11-for-28) and he has at least one hit in every game in his U-M career, including four multi-hit games.

• Junior/sophomore LF Kevin Krantz reached base three times in four plate appearances with a double and two walks and he scored twice. He drove in another run with a bases-loaded walk. Krantz leads the Wolverines with three extra base hits and he shares second on the team with four runs batted in.

• Senior/junior 1B Garrett Stephens was 2-for-4 with a walk to extend his hitting streak to five games and he has hits in six of the seven U-M games this season. Stephens, who is hitting .370 (10-for-27), leads the team with eight RBI and has four career multi hit games.

• Junior 3B John Lorenz, who has hits in 20 of his last 21 games, was 2-for-5. Lorenz is hitting .286 (8-for-28) for the season with 27 career multi-hit games.

• Sophomore CF Patrick Biondi was 2-for-5 with one RBI, giving him five hits against the host Eagles in the past two seasons. Biondi has two multi-hit games this season and 23 for his U-M career.

• Sophomore/freshman catcher Zach Johnson was 1-for-3 with a third-inning single to extend his hitting streak to a pair of games.

• Junior Kevin Vangheluwe struck out four batters in three innings of relief. On the season, Vangheluwe has eight strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched.
