The U-M/OSU game marks the first non-conference game against a Big Ten foe since the Wolverines beat Purdue 4-3 in Florida on Feb. 21, 2009.
Sophomore RF Michael O'Neill, who extended his hitting streak to seven games with a first-inning, run-scoring double, leads the team in hitting at .432 (16-for-37) as he was 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI.
O'Neill has hits in 52 of his 63 games as a Wolverine, with 23 multi-hit games, 15 doubles and six homers in his U-M career.
O'Neill leads the team in hits (16), doubles (7), homers (4), RBI (11) and average (.445).
Sophomore 1B Brett Winger, who is hitting .321 (9-for-28), was 1-for-4, extending his hit streak to three games with his first career home run in the fourth inning.
Freshman SS/2B Dylan Delaney, who is hitting .185 (5-for-27), was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles for his first career multi-hit game.
Junior/sophomore 2B John DiLaura, who is hitting .800 (4-for-5), was 2-for-3 as he extended his hitting streak to three games with a second-inning single. DiLaura was making his first start of the season as he collected his fifth career multi-hit game.
Junior co-captain CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .233 (7-for-30), was 0-for-3 in five plate appearances with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, two runs scored and a stolen base.
Biondi, who leads the team with eight stolen bases, ranks fourth on U-M's career stolen base list with 64, one shy of Steve Finken (65 steals, 1986-88) in third place.
Biondi, who has scored 11 times this season, has scored 116 runs in 120 games in his Wolverine career.
Biondi reached on a fielding error leading off the first inning and he scored on Michael O'Neill's run-scoring double. Biondi has scored in the first inning as U-M's leadoff batter 36 times in his Wolverine career (21 times in 2010, 12 times in 2011 and three times so far in 2012).
