Junior RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .464 (26-for-56) to lead the team, was 3-for-4 with three singles, a walk and one RBI.
O'Neill has 10 multi-hit games this season and 42 career multiple-hit games. He has two of his nine career three-hit games this season.
O'Neill's first-inning single extended his hitting streak to 16 games, which include the final four games of 2012.
Senior captain CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .408 (20-for-49), was 3-for-5 with three singles, two runs scored and a stolen base.
Biondi has six multi-hit games this season and 63 in his U-M career, and he has 15 career three-hit games.
Biondi's single in the second inning extended his team-leading hitting streak to 19 games. He has hits in 30 of his last 32 games.
With one stolen base, Biondi has five for the season as he pushed his all-time U-M stolen base record total to 93.
Biondi scored two runs, giving him 13 for the season to push his career total to 162 runs scored as he moved into 10th place on U-M's career runs scored list ahead of Eric Rose (161 runs scored, 2004-07).
Freshman SS/3B Travis Maezes, who is hitting .311 (14-for-45), was 3-for-4 with three singles for his first three-hit game, a run scored and one RBI. Maezes has a three-game hitting streak and three multi-hit games as a Wolverine.
Freshman 2B/RHP Jacob Cronenworth, who is hitting .326 (14-for-43), was 1-for-3 with one RBI Thursday as he extended his personal season-best hitting streak to seven games with a fifth-inning single.
Sophomore 1B/DH Kyle Jusick, who is hitting .290 (9-for-31), was 1-for-4 with a single and a run-scoring grounder that snapped a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning. The fourth run of the game proved to be Jusick's team-leading third 'game-winning' RBI of the season.
Senior RHP Ben Ballantine (1-0, 3.86 ERA) pitched a season-best six innings, allowing four hits and three runs, two earned, to record his first win of the season. Ballantine (6-4) has six career wins as a Wolverine.
Senior RHP Kyle Clark (0-0, 0.00 ERA, three saves) worked a scoreless ninth inning to collect his third career save. Clark has retired 13 of his last 14 batters faced in his last four bullpen outings.
