ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team committed six errors and gave up multi-run innings three times in a 9-1 loss to Notre Dame Wednesday night (April 9) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.

Notre Dame scored a run in the second after two singles, a sacrifice bunt and ground ball double play. A three-run Zak Kutsulis RBI double in the third gave the Fighting Irish a 4-0 lead.

Michigan scored its run in the bottom of the fourth. Junior Jackson Glines (Coarsegold, Calif./Fresno City College) was hit by a pitch to lead off. He moved to second on a one-out walk by senior Cole Martin (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn). Both runners moved up on a passed ball, and Glines scored on a RBI groundout by junior Eric Jacobson (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius).

Notre Dame put up two unearned runs in the fifth off three Wolverine errors. The Fighting Irish made it 9-1 in the eighth on RBI doubles from Lane Richards and Mac Hudgins.

Fifth-year senior Ben Ballantine (Napa, Calif./Napa) was tagged with the loss. He gave up four runs and five hits in 2.2 innings. Kutsulis and Blaise Lezynski had seven of Notre Dame's 11 hits on the night.

Michigan heads to Champaign, Ill., for a three-game Big Ten series with Illinois. The series starts this Friday (April 11) at 6 p.m. CDT.
