WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The University of Michigan baseball team had just four hits on the day and gave up three unearned runs in a 6-2 loss at Purdue Saturday afternoon (April 19) at Alexander Field.
Purdue scored twice in the third inning on a squeeze bunt from Brandon Krieg that scored Jeff Evak and an RBI single from Sean McHugh. The Wolverines cut the Purdue lead in half in the fifth. The Boilermakers took advantage of a Michigan error in the sixth to score three runs. The big hit came on a two-run McHugh single with two outs and the bases loaded. The Boilermakers added a run in the eighth with a Kyle Johnson infield single that scored Cody Strong from second base.
