Freshman RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .302 (42-for-139), was 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and a run scored. O'Neill has hits in 29 of his 35 games this season and he has 10 multi-hit games.
O'Neill used his two stolen bases Wednesday to take the team lead at 19, one better than CF Patrick Biondi's total of 18 steals.
Junior Coley Crank, who is hitting .266 (33-for-124), was 1-for-3 with a run-scoring triple that gave U-M its 1-0 lead in the sixth inning.
Crank has hits in 14 of his last 16 games and more than half of his 33 hits have been for extra bases (17), including 12 doubles, one triple and four homers.
Crank shares the team lead at 18 runs batted in with OF Michael O'Neill. Crank has 93 career RBI as a Wolverine.
Sophomore CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .309 (43-for-139) to lead the team, had his streak of consecutive starts snapped at 88 games.
Biondi entered Wednesday's game as a defensive replacement and had a sacrifice bunt in his only plate appearance, keeping his current personal season-best hitting streak alive at eight games. Biondi is hitting .452 (14-for-31) with seven stolen bases and nine runs scored during his streak.
Junior/sophomore IF/OF Kevin Krantz, who is hitting .214 (22-for-103), was 0-for-1 with two sac bunts and a hit by pitch. Krantz leads the Wolverines in HBPs (7) and sac bunts (7).
Krantz made his first start of the season in right field and he leads the team with starts at six different positions (1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF and RF).
