Senior catcher/1B/DH/LF Coley Crank, who is hitting .239 (33-for-138), was 4-for-7 with two homers and four RBI in Saturday's doubleheader vs. Northwestern.He was 2-for-4 in the opener and 2-for-3 in the second game with a homer and two RBI in each game.
Crank, who has a five-game hitting streak, has seven multi-hit games this season and 45 for his U-M career in 185 games.
Crank leads the Wolverines with nine home runs and 32 RBI this season. He has 140 RBI in 185 games in his U-M career.
Crank has pulled into a tie for fifth place on Michigan's career home runs list at 32 homers with Jim Paciorek (32, 1979-82). Crank is one homer shy of a tie for third place with Phil Price (33, 1987-90) and Ken Hayward (33, 1982-85).
Senior co-captain 3B John Lorenz, who is hitting .237 (36-for-152), was 5-for-8 with a HBP and two RBI in the twinbill.Lorenz was 3-for-4 in the opener and 2-for-4 in the second game. He has nine multi-hit games this season and 46 in his career.
Sophomore 1B Brett Winger, who is hitting .302 (42-for-139), was 6-for-10 with six singles, a walk and one RBI in Saturday's doubleheader. Winger was 2-for-5 in the opener and 4-for-5 in the second game. It was Winger's first four-hit game as a Wolverine, and he has 11 hits in his past five Big Ten games vs. Penn State and Northwestern.
Winger has 11 multi-hit games this season and 15 for his U-M career.
Senior RHP Brandon Sinnery (3-3, 3.63 ERA) allowed three runs, just one earned, on five hits with a season-high eight strikeouts in eight innings of a no-decision start in Saturday's opener vs. Northwestern. The three runs on Sinnery were scored on a two-out error, a two-out strikeout wild pitch and the third run scored from second base on a `two-base' sac fly.
Sinnery has allowed three earned runs in 25 innings (1.08 ERA) in his last three series-opening starts in Big Ten action. He had back-to-back Big Ten wins over Michigan State and Penn State before the no-decision vs. Northwestern.
Sinnery leads the team with 42 strikeouts and 69.1 innings pitched.
Junior co-captain CF/2B Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .316 (48-for-152), was 3-for-9 with a double, a run scored and one RBI in Saturday's doubleheader. Biondi was 2-for-5 in the opener and 1-for-4 in the second game, extending his current hit streak to four games.
Biondi, who leads the team in hits (48), runs scored (35), stolen bases (24) and multi-hit games (14), has 53 career multi-hit games as a Wolverine.
Freshman DH/LF Kevin White, who is hitting .111 (5-for-45), was 3-for-5 with a double in Saturday's second game. The double was White's first extra-base hit as a Wolverine, and the three-hit effort was his first career multi-hit game.
Freshman 2B Eric Jacobson, who is hitting .214 (6-for-28), was 2-for-5 with a pair of singles, a run scored and one RBI in Saturday's second game. It was Jacobson's first career multi-hit game in his seven career starts at 2B for the Wolverines.
