Junior OF Ryan LaMarre pushed his batting average back to .500 (34-for-68) as he was 4-for-4 on the day. LaMarre's fourth career four-hit game included his second home run of the season and he added three singles.
LaMarre's first-inning single extended his Big Ten hitting streak to 13 games, including the last four games from 2009 and nine games in 2010.
LaMarre, who has hits in 19 of his last 20 games in overall action, collected his 11th multi-hit game this season and the 41st in his U-M career. LaMarre has eight multi-hit games in his nine Big Ten starts this season with five three-hit games and Saturday's four-hit game in Big Ten play this season.
Junior RHP Tyler Burgoon (6-1, 3.28 ERA, six saves) worked the final five innings to record his team-leading sixth win of the season.
Burgoon is 4-0 with all six of his saves in his 12 appearances since moving back to the bullpen. He has given up just the three earned runs, all coming today, in that 12-game span covering 29.1 innings.
Senior C Chris Berset's fifth-inning RBI-double snapped a 2-2 tie and proved to be his fourth game-winning RBI of the season. Berset has eight career 'gamers.'
Berset, who has hits in 23 of his last 24 games, is hitting .396 (19-for-48) in Big Ten action. Berset leads the Wolverines with 23 multi-hit games this season and has 46 in his U-M career.
Sophomore C/DH Coley Crank was 2-for-4 with a two-run triple. Crank has 17 multi-hit games this season and notched his 20th career multi-hit game on Saturday. Crank pushed his team-leading RBI total to 44.
Sophomore 3B John Lorenz was 2-for-4 with his eighth double of the year. Lorenz has 11 multi-hit games this season and 17 for his career.
Senior RF Nick Urban was 2-for-4 with his 10th double of the season. Urban, who has 17 career doubles, has nine multi-hit games this season and 21 career multiple-hit games.
Senior 1B Mike Dufek hit his 22nd career round-tripper.
