ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team resumed its game against Eastern Michigan from April 17 Tuesday night (May 7) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. Michigan trailed 4-1 heading into the restart and a seven-run fifth inning by EMU guided the Eagles to a 13-4 win.

The Wolverines scored first in the restart with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Junior Michael O'Neill (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) singled, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error. He scored on a groundout from freshman Jack Sexton (Goldens Bridge, N.Y./Fordham Prep), but Michigan scored just one run after having the bases loaded with no one out.

Eastern Michigan put up seven runs after the Maize and Blue retired the first two batters. A pair of triples keyed the two-out rally. Eastern added single runs in the sixth and seventh, before the Wolverines scored in the bottom of the seventh frame. Senior Patrick Biondi (Woodhaven, Mich./Divine Child) walked, moved to second on a single from freshman Travis Maezes (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and scored on an O'Neill single.

The Wolverines concluded the scoring in the ninth as sophomore Kyle Jusick (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) singled home Biondi for U-M's fourth run.

Maezes and O'Neill had two hits in the game, while Biondi scored a pair of runs. Freshman Alex Daar (Clinton Twp., Mich./University Liggett) took the loss for the Wolverines, allowing three runs and three walks in the third inning on April 17. Sophomore Donnie Eaton (Ann Arbor, Mich./Father Gabriel Richard) struck out two and did not allow a hit in two innings of relief.

Michigan hosts Toledo Wednesday night (May 8) at 6:05 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.
