The shutout, shared by five pitchers, was the fifth of the season for the Wolverines. The five shutouts are the most for U-M since the 2006 Wolverines had seven.
Junior OF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .343 (68-for-198) to lead the team, was 2-for-5 with a double, a single and a run scored. O'Neill leads the team with a personal career season-best 24 multi-hit games in 2013, and he has 56 career multiple-hit games. He has 19 two-hit games in 2013 to lead the Wolverines.
O'Neill has hits in 38 of the 47 games this season and in 42 of his last 51 games in the past two seasons.
O'Neill collected his team-leading 16th double of the season in the first inning vs. Toledo, pushing his career total to 36 doubles in 142 career games as a Wolverine. He has 188 career hits.
Freshman SS Travis Maezes, who is hitting .311 (57-for-183), was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, a walk and a run scored. He has a four-game hitting streak.
Maezes is second on the team in hits (52), RBI (30), walks (17) and multi-hit games (16).
Sophomore OF Kevin White, who is hitting .260 (33-for-127), was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, a sacrifice fly, and a team-high and personal season-best four RBI. The homer was the first of the year for White and the fourth of his U-M career.
White has 10 multi-hit games in 2013 and 17 in his career as a Wolverine.
Freshman 3B/RHP Jacob Cronenworth, who is hitting .311 (52-for-167), was 1-for-4 with a single, a run scored and his team-leading 32nd RBI of the season.
Cronenworth's first-inning, bases-loaded groundout drove in the first run of the game, and it proved to be his second game-winning RBI of the season.
Sophomore LF Zach Zott, who is hitting .293 (39-for-133), was 0-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored. Zott has collected 16 walks in 2013.
