Senior catcher Coley Crank, who is hitting .257 (45-for-175), was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in the eighth inning to break up Purdue's shutout bid.
Crank, who leads the team with 42 runs batted in, has 150 career RBI in 196 games. Crank ranks ninth in career RBI at U-M as he tied and passed Bryan Besco (149 RBI, 1995-99) on Saturday.
Crank ranks third on Michigan's career home run list with 35 as he trails Nate Recknagel (43 homers, 2006-08) and Wolverine record-holder Casey Close (46, 1983-86).
Sophomore 1B Brett Winger, who is hitting .289 (52-for-180), was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Winger's single to open the eighth inning snapped a streak of 20 consecutive Wolverines that had been retired in the game.
Junior co-captain CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .310 (62-for-200), was 1-for-4 with a leadoff single in the first inning.
Biondi, who has three of U-M's nine hits in the first two games of the weekend series at Purdue, has hits in 13 of his last 15 games.
Senior co-captain 3B John Lorenz, who is hitting .250 (48-for-192), was 1-for-3 with a run scored. He has hits in 11 of his last 13 games.
Sophomore RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .338 (47-for-144), was 1-for-4 with a ninth-inning single. O'Neill has hits in six of his seven games since his return from injury.
