Tonight's win snapped a seven-game Wolverine losing streak.
Freshman RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .297 (60-for-202) to share the team lead in hitting with CF Patrick Biondi, was 0-for-1 with a walk, a stolen base, a sac fly and one run batted in. O'Neill has hits in 41 of his 51 games.
O'Neill, who leads the team with 28 stolen bases, is one stolen base behind the U-M rookie record for steals in a season set by teammate Patrick Biondi (29, 2010) last season.
O'Neill's fourth-inning sac fly snapped a 4-4 tie and proved to be his third game-winning RBI of the season. O'Neill shares the team lead in 'gamers' with IF/OF Kevin Krantz and 1B Garrett Stephens. O'Neill is second on the team with 27 RBI.
Sophomore SS Derek Dennis, who is hitting .234 (32-for-137), was 2-for-2 with a game-tying two-run double in the third inning. Dennis has 10 multi-hit games in 2011 and 23 career multi-hit games.
Junior LF/catcher/DH Coley Crank, who is hitting .257 (47-for-183), was 1-for-3 with a two-run single. Crank leads the team with 31 RBI this season, pushing his career total to 106 as a Wolverine.
Crank has hits in 24 of his last 32 games and nearly half his 47 hits have been for extra bases (23), including 15 doubles, one triple and seven homers.
Freshman 1B Brett Winger, who is hitting .271 (16-for-59), was 1-for-2 with a fourth-inning single that started the game-winning rally. Winger has hits in eight of his last nine overall games.
Biondi, who leads the team with 35 runs scored, has scored 104 runs in 108 games in his Wolverine career.
