Michigan scored 15 runs in the final five innings to clinch a Big Ten Tournament berth for the first time since the 2010 season.
Michigan's total of 19 runs and 23 hits are season highs and the most runs since a 20-0 win over Fordham on Mar. 20, 2010, and the first 19-run output since a 19-11 win over Jacksonville State in the season opener on Feb. 19, 2010. The 19 runs are the most for Michigan in a Big Ten game since a 27-6 win over Michigan State on April 20, 2008.
Junior OF Michael O'Neill extended his current hitting streak to eight games with his first-inning single.
O'Neill, who hit .313 (31-for-99) in Big Ten play, has 203 career hits in 159 games.
O'Neill leads the team with a personal-best 29 multi-hit games in 2013 and has 61 career multiple-hit games. He has seven three-hit games in 2013 and 14 in his U-M career.
O'Neill has hits in 45 of the 54 games this season and in 49 of his last 58 games in the past two seasons.
Senior captain CF Patrick Biondi was 8-for-15 (.533) in the three-game series vs. Nebraska.
Biondi scored three runs to push his season total to 39 and career total to 188 runs, whicha re just two shy of the U-M record of 190 runs scored by Casey Close (1983-86).
Biondi scored in the first inning as Michigan's leadoff batter for the 52nd time (21 times in 2010, 12 times in 2011, 10 times in 2012 and nine times so far in 2013).
Sophomore RHP Matt Ogden (8-1, 2.44 ERA, two saves) earned his team-leading eighth win of the season. Ogden, who has 11 wins in his U-M career, was 5-1 with a team-leading 1.30 ERA in Big Ten play.
Sophomore LF Zach Zott is second on the team with 19 stolen bases in 2013. Zott, who hit .311 (28-for-90) in Big Ten play, has 14 multi-hit games in overall action this season and 19 in his U-M career.
Freshman SS Travis Maezes posted his second four-hit game of the season. With the five-RBI output, he set a team and personal best for 2013 and grabbed the team RBI lead with 42 -- one more than 3B Jacob Cronenworth (41 RBI). Maezes leads the team with 12 multiple-RBI games in 2013, is second on the team with 19 multi-hit games in overall action and hit a team-high .406 (39-for-96) in Big Ten play.
Junior catcher Cole Martin earned his first four-hit game. Martin, who hit .337 (30-for-89) in Big Ten play, has 14 multi-hit games in 2013 and 19 career multi-hit games as a Wolverine. He closed out the conference season with a team-best seven-game Big Ten hitting streak.
Senior/junior DH John DiLaura has three multiple-hit games in 2013 and 18 career multi-hit games in 96 games played. He has four three-hit games as a Wolverine.
Sophomore RF Kevin White now has 13 multi-hit games in 2013 and 20 in his career.
Sophomore 1B Kyle Jusick's fifth-inning grounder is his fifth game-winning RBI of the season.
