Senior captain CF Patrick Biondi, who hit .309 (51-for-165) in 2013 to close out his U-M career, was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and he was hit by a pitch. Biondi, who hit nine doubles in 2013, had 38 career doubles in 217 games as a Wolverine. Biondi tied Leif Mahler (217 games, 2004-06, '08) for fifth place on Michigan's career games played list.
Biondi scored one run, giving him 40 runs scored in 2013 and pushing his career total to 189 runs to finish second on U-M's career runs list, just one shy of the record of 190 set by Casey Close (1983-86).
Freshman 3B/RHP Jacob Cronenworth, who hit .320 (65-for-203) to rank second on the team in 2013, was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double.
Cronenworth, who finished second on the team with 41 RBI in 2013, was third on the team with 17 multi-hit games. He reached base in the final 12 games of the season.
Junior OF Michael O'Neill, who hit .356 (85-for-239) to lead the team, was 2-for-5 with a triple, a single and a run scored. O'Neill's 85 hits in 2013 rank ninth on U-M's single-season hit list. He has 205 career hits in 151 games as a Wolverine.
O'Neill led the team with a personal career-best 30 multi-hit games in 2013, and he has 62 career multiple-hit games.
With hits in 46 of the 56 games in 2013, O'Neill had hits in 50 of his last 60 games the past two seasons.
Freshman SS Travis Maezes, who hit .313 (68-for-217) in 2013, was 1-for-2 with a single, two sacrifice flies and two RBI. Maezes, who finished the season with a team-leading total of 44 RBI, reached base in 19 straight games to close out the season, and he led the team with 13 multiple-RBI games in 2013.
Sophomore RHP Matt Ogden (8-1, 2.28 ERA, two saves), who led the Wolverines with eight wins in 2013, pitched 3.2 shutout innings against Illinois. He allowed one hit with four strikeouts as he kept the Wolverines close in the final innings of the 3-2 loss in the first elimination game of the Big Ten Tournament.
Ogden finished the 2013 season with 42 strikeouts in 55.1 innings over 21 appearances.
Sophomore RF Kevin White, who hit .278 (45-for-162) in 2013, was 1-for-4 with a fourth-inning double as he extended his hitting streak to three games. White, who was 3-for-8 (.375) in the Big Ten Tournament, had 12 doubles in 2013 to share second on the team.
Senior/junior DH John DiLaura, who batted .280 (14-for-50) in 2013, was 1-for-3 with a single and a ninth-inning walk. DiLaura closed out 2013 by matching his season-best three-game hitting streak.
