O'NEILL NAMED PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR BY BASEBALL AMERICA: Baseball America came out with its 2013 Big Ten Conference preview, and the publication listed junior outfielder Michael O'Neill (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) as its Player of the Year. O'Neill also is listed as the conference's No. 2 prospect for the 2013-14 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Drafts. Freshman left-handed pitcher Evan Hill (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) was listed as the Big Ten's Top Newcomer for 2013, while the preview also features O'Neill, senior outfielder Patrick Biondi (Woodhaven, Mich./Divine Child) and first-year head coach Erik Bakich. The Wolverines are picked to finish sixth in the Big Ten by Baseball America.
