ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball program and head coach Rich Maloney have announced the addition of Wayne Welton as its volunteer assistant coach, it was announced today (Tuesday, Dec. 13).

Welton will work with the Wolverine outfielders as well as helping out in the day-to-day activities of Michigan baseball.

"Wayne was a great high school coach and athletic director and has been working our camps since I've been a head coach here," Maloney said. "Wayne's very well respected in the baseball community. He's been the president of the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association in the past and has built a strong reputation for being an outstanding baseball coach.
