2003-04 BKM vs. Fairfield -- Postgame Quotes
Michigan Head Coach Tommy Amaker

On playing a complete game ... "It's a good feeling for our team because we haven't played a complete game in a while. I thought we closed out the game in the right way and handled the pressure very well. They made a run and got it down to around 14 or 15 points, but we stayed solid and attacked in transition. I thought we had a good solid all-around team effort."

On what the loss to Boston University taught the team ... "We knew we were better than what we displayed. We talked to our kids about getting back to the things we are capable of doing and the things that have made us what we are so far this year. We have developed the identity of a blue collar team and I thought we displayed that today. We got on the floor for loose balls, we took charges and we did a lot of the little things. I was disappointed with our free throw shooting, but we did a lot of little things we needed to do to win this game."

On where the team is heading into the Big Ten season ... "We're hoping that we can continually grow. We are a young team and this was a big step for us. We needed a game like this to show the poise down the stretch in different areas. Fairfield is a solid basketball team that has made a living this year of coming back and upsetting people and winning games. We knew that just because we were up by 15 points with four minutes to play that the game wasn't over."

On the team's struggles from the free throw line ... "I wish we had the answer. I'd like to think that we practice free throws more than anyone in the country. I don't know if we're thinking about it too much, but it was just a dismal effort. We're lucky to win shooting 33 percent from the line."
