ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Game times have been set and tickets are still available for Sunday's (Jan. 9) marquee basketball doubleheader at Crisler Arena that will feature the University of Michigan men's and women's basketball programs against two nationally ranked opponents.The U-M women's team will take on No. 11 Michigan State at noon, followed by the men hosting No. 3 Kansas in a "Maize Out" at 4:30 p.m. The Russian Bar Trio, a nationally renowned act that appeared on "America's Got Talent," will provide halftime entertainment at both games.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth (18 and under) or seniors (55 and over) for the women's game, and limited tickets starting at $20 are available for the men's game. Tickets may be purchased online at MGoBlue.com/tickets, in person at the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 866-296-MTIX. Fans who are attending the men's game will receive an e-mail that can be printed and brought to the women's game for $1 admission.
The women's game against Michigan State marks the fourth annual NCAA/Pack the House Challenge, where colleges and universities across the country attempt to break their all-time single-game attendance record. The current U-M record is 5,926, set at last year's Pack the House Challenge game against Penn State. The first 5,000 fans will receive a maize pom-pom.
The men's game is a "Maize Out" and all fans are encouraged to wear maize to the game. The first 7,000 fans into the arena will receive a SuperFan Wig, courtesy of AT&T.
The Michigan men's team owns an 11-3 overall record and 1-1 league mark and has won eight of its last nine outings going into Wednesday's (Jan. 5) road game at Wisconsin.
The women's team is 9-5 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten Conference action heading into Thursday's (Jan. 6) game at Purdue. The Wolverines have won three straight games against nationally ranked teams, defeating No. 24 Boston College (Dec. 22) as well as Big Ten preseason favorites No. 13 Ohio State (Dec. 30) and No. 14 Iowa (Jan. 2).
All fans will be asked to promptly exit Crisler Arena following the conclusion of the women's game to give the facility workers time to properly prepare the facility for the men's basketball game at 4:30 p.m.
Fans are reminded that bags, purses or backpacks measuring larger than 8.5 inches wide by 11 inches long by 8.5 inches high are not admissible into Crisler Arena. Also, outside food and beverages are not allowed.
