ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan athletic department announced that Sunday's (Jan. 8) men's basketball contest against 18th-ranked Wisconsin will be a "Maize Out." With limited tickets available, the 16th-ranked Wolverines are expecting a sellout crowd for the third straight game at the Crisler Center.
Michigan, which is 9-0 at the Crisler Center this season, is encouraging all Wolverine fans to wear maize-colored clothing to the game against the Badgers. Maize pompoms, courtesy of PNC Bank, will be distributed to add to the "Maize Out."
The contest will also be part of a dedication weekend for the new Player Development Center. Several prominent men's basketball alumni will return for a special halftime recognition ceremony, including U-M legends Cazzie Russell, Rudy Tomjanovich, Phil Hubbard, Daniel Horton and Campy Russell.
Michigan faces its second ranked opponent in a week and the first at the Crisler Center this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., with the game nationally televised on CBS.
