ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball head coach John Beilein announced today (Tuesday, Jan. 20) the dates for the 2009 U-M summer team camps. U-M will host the Beilein Shootout Team Camp on Saturday, June 13. A second team camp, the Wolverine Overnight Team Camp, will run on Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28.
The Beilein Shootout will be a one-day pool play event for high school teams playing on the U-M campus. Teams will be assigned leagues according to their coach's competitive preference. Coach Beilein will speak to the camp between sessions. Coaches will have the opportunity to interact with the U-M coaching staff throughout the day. The cost per team will be $325, which includes a camp T-shirt for all participants, officials and a four-game schedule. The Beilein Shootout registration and check-in is at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 13. Orientation will begin at 9 a.m. and teams will be dismissed by 8 p.m.
The Wolverine Overnight Team Camp invites high school and AAU coaches to bring their teams to the U-M campus for a weekend of premium competition, providing coaches a positive team-building opportunity. Coaches will choose which competition level to place their team in for the camp. Teams will play a minimum of four games, and up to six games, during the weekend with three games on Saturday, June 27, and a single-elimination tournament on Sunday, June 28.
The cost per team will be $375, and includes a camp T-shirt for all participants, officials, pool-play schedule and single-elimination tournament. The cost does not include housing and meals. The Wolverine Overnight Team Camp registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Coach Beilein will speak to campers and coaches at 9 a.m. and teams will be dismissed after their final game on Sunday.
