U-M Head Coach Tommy Amaker
On the game ... "We were concerned with having a short turnaround after the Ohio State loss and not having a lot of time to prepare. Vermont is a team that knows how to win and we will probably see them in the NCAA Tournament given how they have performed in their league."
On Michigan's defense ... "Our defensive press really got to them and we were able to wear them down. We had it clicking on offense because our defense allowed us to get easy buckets. Our kids did an outstanding job pushing the lead and making it stand up in the end."
On having patience of offense ... "We worked a lot yesterday on getting good ball movement and we put a lot of effort into getting touches and movement. They were doing exactly what we asked them to do. Chris (Young) kicked it out to the guys outside and they were able to make shots."
Freshman Forward Chuck Bailey
On his development as a player ... "Coach (Amaker) is there to give me advice and communicate with me on how I can improve as a player. Even the little things I can do out there that will make me better."
On battling for rebounds against Vermont ... "Well, they're a good team and they can position themselves to hit the glass. It's something we have to work on, being tough on the boards, but they were a good team."
On becoming more comfortable on the court ... "I think I've always been comfortable out there, but I've definitely been building my confidence over the past few games and am getting used to everything."
Senior Guard Leon Jones
On playing a non-conference opponent in the middle of the Big Ten schedule ... "I like it. It gives us an opportunity to see how we've improved and gives us an opportunity to try things out against an opponent that you haven't seen before. The win today gave us some confidence after Ohio State and showed us some things that we did well and then some things we need to improve on."
On preparing for his last regular-season game against Michigan State ... "I'm looking forward to it. It's always hard to go into the Breslin Center and play up there, but now it might be my last chance to come out of there with a win, so we want to make the most of this opportunity."
Senior Center Chris Young
On how far his game has come in a year ... "Well, I'm a lot further now than I was at this time last year. My confidence is extremely high and I feel like I get more confident every time I go out there. Whether I score eight or 10 points, it doesn't matter because I feel that I'm making the right passes and making smart decisions."
Vermont Head Coach Tom Brennan
On the start of the second half ... "At the start of the second half, it was men vs. boys for six or seven minutes. I was very impressed with how well Michigan played because I was very impressed with how we were playing. For them to come out and take control of the second half showed how well they were executing."
On Vermont center Trevor Gaines ... "I was so happy for Trevor to be able to come home and play well. I love him to death and he's the reason we came out here. I thought it would be real neat for him to play well and he did. He has meant a lot to our program."
