ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team will be holding its second annual Care Package Drive to benefit our nation's servicemen and women overseas in conjunction with this Sunday's (Jan. 30) game against Iowa at 4 p.m.
Michigan Athletics is working with the Student Veterans Association at the University of Michigan to send these items to Task Force-12 in the Khakrez District of the Kandahar Province in Afghanistan.
Donations can be dropped off at Crisler Arena in the concourse near Gate E, Gate A or Gate B.
Preferred donation items include:
- Black socks
- Deodorant
- Gift cards from gourmet coffee houses (to be used to buy and mail over coffee)
- Gum
- Protein bars
- Canned chicken/tuna
- Ramen noodles
- Hand-written letters
- Hot chocolate mix
- Magazines
- Granola bars
- Dried fruit
- Chex mix
- Baby wipes
- Chapstick
- Batteries
