ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Department of Athletics announced today (Wednesday, Feb. 6) giveaways and activities to be held in conjunction with the Crisler Center Dedication Weekend presented by the U-M Credit Union. Fans at men's and women's basketball games will receive a complimentary commemorative pin celebrating the Crisler Center Dedication and an eight-page program highlighting the history of the venue.
The men's and women's basketball teams will wear throwback uniforms in their weekend games. Adidas produced white uniforms that pay tribute to the opening of Crisler Arena in 1968. The retro uniforms are identical to the ones worn by the men's basketball program in 1968.
The women's basketball team hosts rival Michigan State on Saturday, Feb. 16, at noon. The game has been designated as a Maize Out, and Michigan fans are encouraged to wear Maize in support of the team. Fans can purchase tickets at MGoBlue.com/tickets or by visiting the Athletic Ticket Office during normal business hours.
The weekend concludes with the men's basketball game against Penn State on Sunday, Feb. 17. Prior to the noon tipoff, Michigan Athletics will have a formal ribbon cutting ceremony for Crisler Center.
The athletic department is going to Stripe Out the entire arena for the game with the Nittany Lions. Each section has a designated maize or blue color designation. Please refer to the map below for the maize or blue color that each respective section should wear for this game. A very limited number of tickets are available for purchase at MGoBlue.com.
The 2012-13 U-M Hall of Honor class will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game.
