U-M's Game with OSU Saturday a Maize Out, Marks Return of FanCam

Michigan's College GameDay Primer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan athletic department announced today (Thursday, Feb. 16) that the sold-out men's basketball game against sixth-ranked Ohio State on Saturday (Feb. 18) will be a "Maize Out." Saturday's activities surrounding the game will also include ESPN's College GameDay and the return of the FanCam sponsored by Coke Zero.

For the "Maize Out," all Wolverine fans are encouraged to wear maize-colored clothing to the game against the Buckeyes. Maize pompoms, courtesy of AT&T, will also be distributed to add to the atmosphere at Crisler Center.


Fans will be permitted to line up for College GameDay beginning at 5 a.m., just outside Gate D at U-M's Mortenson Plaza. The gates to Crisler Center will open at 7:30 a.m. 

Hosted by Rece Davis and analysts Digger Phelps, Jay Bilas and Hubert Davis, ESPN's College GameDay is making a stop in Ann Arbor and will broadcast from Crisler Center beginning at 9 a.m. Coverage will include live look-ins to be broadcast during the 10 a.m. edition of ESPN's SportsCenter. Additionally, College GameDay will go live at 10 a.m. on ESPNU and move to ESPN at 11 a.m. before the day's games begin.

At approximately 8 p.m., College GameDay will begin its Primetime show before the Wolverines and Buckeyes tip off at 9 p.m.


In addition to College GameDay, FanCam makes a return visit to Ann Arbor after its successful debut at the Wolverines' football "Under the Lights" game against Notre Dame. FanCam's unique photo technology captured a 360-degree image from inside Michigan Stadium in which more than 300,000 fans interacted through social media by tagging themselves in the photo.

For the men's basketball game, all Wolverine fans are encouraged to get to the game early as the Michigan basketball FanCam presented by Coke Zero will take its image from within Crisler Center with 10 minutes remaining in the warm-up clock, following the completion of the national anthem.

All fans attending Saturday's game can print a coupon to receive $2 off a 20-ounce Coke Zero at any portable concession stand in Crisler Center. Other prizes FanCam will offer to Wolverine fans include two tickets to the regular-season finale against Purdue (Saturday, Feb. 25); four tickets to the 2012 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. (Thu-Sun, March 8-11); two tickets to U-M football's home opener against Air Force (Saturday, Sept. 8); and two tickets to U-M football's game against Michigan State (Saturday, Oct. 20), which also includes pregame hospitality passes.
