Horton Suspended from Games for Remainder of Season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball program has announced that junior guard Daniel Horton (Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill HS) has resumed practicing and participating in team activities but will not participate in the remaining games of the 2004-05 season.

"As we stated all along, we understand the seriousness and sensitivity of this situation," said U-M coach Tommy Amaker. "As with all of our decisions, we will do what we feel is right."

"This has been a very difficult time, and I've learned a lot," said Horton. "I'm grateful for the chance to get back with my teammates."

Horton was suspended from team activities Jan. 25 and will miss a total of 11 regular-season games as well as all postseason games. In addition, Horton missed six games due to injury earlier this season.
