U-M Head Coach Tommy Amaker
On the game ... "I am really proud of these kids. We played 40 solid minutes today. Northwestern is a difficult team to prepare for and a difficult team to play against. We were able to get some nice leads but they battled back. I am really proud that we did not wilt when they cut the lead from 17 to five in the second half. They showed a lot of courage and earned their first Big Ten Tournament win."
Senior Guard Leon Jones
On if this was the team's best game ... "I thought we were very prepared for this game, and they are a tough team to prepare for. We had a lot of focus out there. We let the offense find us and made good shots."
On playing point guard ... "I had a couple of days to prepare in practice. I just wanted to not turn the ball over and distribute the ball to my teammates. They were able to make their shots. That took a lot of pressure off of me."
On facing Ohio State in the quarterfinals ... "We are looking forward to it. We just want to play hard to finish this tournament. I think we match up well with them. We played them tough during the season so it should be a good game."
