Sophomore guard Josh Bartelstein will give an inside look all season at the 2010-11 version of the Wolverines.
What's up everyone?
I'm writing to you from the Charlotte room in the beautiful Hilton as we are conducting our study hall. Not too many people are thrilled with having to do work with the game being hours away but it is part of being a student-athlete.
Today has been a really busy day. We woke up around 9 a.m. and had a film session. As Jon Horford, would say "a quality session of watching film." Then we went on to practice at a school about 20 minutes away.
This practice was closed to the media so we were able to put in our final game plan for tomorrow. Right after that we continued on to Time Warner Cable Arena for our open practice.
First we had a media session and this is when you can tell you aren't playing any regular season game with the amount of cameras in attendance. So many of us are just trying to take in the moment of actually getting to play in the NCAA tournament. We have been talking about this since we were little kids and only dreamt one day it would come to fruition. We know tomorrow morning we can't be wide eyed anymore because there is business to take care off.
Practice went very well. I just hope the fans didn't show up to see a dunk contest because we did no dunking. Instead we worked on what has made us successful this year, which included shooting drills, lay-ups and pivoting drills. You would think I was talking about a sixth grade school team, but what makes Coach Beilein so highly regarded is how skilled his players are and the reason why is because we all practice things most say is simple.
The rest of the day we watched the games which included Matt Howard of Butler hitting a game winning shot and of course Morehead State beats Louisville. I'm sure all of you guys had that one in your brackets.
The rest of the week I will try and provide updates on what we are doing, that may be shorter blog installments.
You can also follow me on twitter (@Jbart20) as I will try and give updates on our daily occurrences.
Now Darius and I have to study for Movement Science 110.
Be back soon! Go Blue!
