9:30 a.m. CT: The Wolverine players and support staff board the bus and head to the College Basketball Experience and College Basketball Hall of Fame, attached to the Sprint Center.
10:40 a.m. CT: U-M is back on the bus headed back to the hotel. The experience and hall of fame are very nice, very interactive. Highlights of the trip included players sitting at a television desk testing out their media skills and managers dunking on seven-foot rims. Walking back to the bus the team got a real feel of NCAA Tournament excitement as the streets surrounding the arena were filled with fans headed to the afternoon session.
10:57 a.m. CT: The bus arrives back at the hotel. The first game of the NCAA Tournament tips in just 23 minutes.
11:15 a.m. CT: In the hotel ballroom, the Wolverines go through one final film session and walkthrough prior to this evening's contest against Clemson. Michigan's first NCAA Tournament game in 11 years is now less than seven hours away.
2:23 p.m. CT: The Wolverines have just concluded "fast facts," a final scouting report look at Clemson, and are beginning pregame meal. By now the lobby is constantly crowded with fans and well-wishers wearing Maize and Blue.
4:55 p.m. CT: The team bus has arrived at the Sprint Center and the travel party has passed through security. A quick trip into the locker room to lace up shoes and the Wolverines will be on the floor.
5:35 p.m. CT: Game time is still more than 30 minutes away but the vocal contingent of early-arriving U-M fans can already be heard chanting Go Blue in the seating area.
5:56 p.m. CT: The national anthem has just concluded and both teams are headed back to their respective dressing rooms for one final team talk. U-M radio analyst Jimmy King came over to give a pep talk to the Michigan students clustered across the way.
6:07 p.m. CT: The buzzer just sounded and the introductions have begun. Michigan's long wait between tournament appearances is almost over.
6:11 p.m. CT: The ball is in the air, the talk is over, Michigan and Clemson are dueling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
6:56 p.m. CT: Halftime in Kansas City and the Maize and Blue have a 27-24 lead.
7:11 p.m. CT: The Wolverines emerge from their locker room following the intermission. Another strong 20 minutes and the season will be extended by another game.
8:32 p.m. CT: Coach Beilein has just addressed the team before the best part of any postgame, the singing of "The Victors" in the locker room. 9:45 p.m. CT: After fulfilling their media obligations and taking in a portion of the first half of the Oklahoma-Morgan State game, the Wolverines depart the Sprint Center to head back to the team hotel. Some members of the staff stay at the arena to scout for Saturday's game.
9:54 p.m. CT: The team bus arrives back at the hotel where a post-game meal awaits. After the meal the players have a little time to themselves before lights out. The staff meanwhile is busy cutting film and preparing for Saturday.
11:00 p.m. CT: Oklahoma just finished its victory over Morgan State. U-M now knows it will face the Sooners in the second round on Saturday.
