Court Vision with C.J. Lee: Unbelievable Experience, Challenges Still Lie Ahead

Court Vision with C.J. Lee
FRIDAY, MARCH20 -- Unbelievable Experience, Challenges Still Lie Ahead

When we came to Kansas City on Tuesday night, we knew we had an opportunity to do something special. Unfortunately, our preparation the days leading up to our travel resembled a team that was just happy to be in the NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament is a place we have all aspired to get to but a place that none of us have ever been. On Tuesday night after watching film Coach Beilein challenged our focused and told us those opportunities such this should not be squandered by a lack of focus and preparation.

On Wednesday, we practiced at UMKC and had a very focused and spirited practice. Our coaching staff told us that the key to beating Clemson was to beat its press to score. That meant knowing when to pull the ball out and run our offense and knowing when to attack for dunks and three point shots.

The game in retrospect was an unbelievable experience. I'm sure it was an entertaining game for our fans all over the country and the support we had in the arena.

Our team played with so much poise and our team played together for the entire 40 minutes. We fought hard, we combated Clemson's run at the end, and we did something that we knew we could do, it was just a matter of us executing our game plan.

Our guys are definitely enjoying the experience but we are not satisfied.

Our coaching staff is prepping us today for Oklahoma. The Sooners will be a huge challenge because they are a very good team. We will practice at the Sprint Center today to put our game plan in. Controlling the tempo and changing up our defenses I'm sure will be a huge part of it.

The rest of our day will consist of a lot of rest, treatment and proper nutrition outside of our mid-day practice. We will watch film a couple of times on Oklahoma and enjoy the day in Kansas City.

We are on a mission to do everything in our power to have success versus Oklahoma. The stakes are as high as they have ever been, and the game versus the Sooners is the only game that is guaranteed in our season. We control our destiny.

This experience has been unbelievable like I said and we are trying to live in this moment for as long as we possibly can.
