ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sophomore guard Trey Burke (Columbus, Ohio/Northland) of the University of Michigan men's basketball team was named one of four finalists today (Sunday, March 24) for the 2013 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year presented by the Atlanta Tip Off Club.

Burke is joined by Indiana's Victor Oladipo, Creighton's Doug McDermott and Georgetown's Otto Porter as finalists for the national honor.

Burke, who was recently named the Sports Illustrated National Player of the Year, has been named to the All-America first team by the Sporting News, Sports Illustrated and USBWA. He was named the Big Ten's Player of the Year and earned unanimous All-Big Ten first team honors. He was also honored by the USBWA as the District V Player of the Year as well as to the All-District Team.

In addition to the Naismith award, Burke is a finalist for several national awards, including Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year Award, John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Award, Bob Cousy Award for Nation's Top Point Guard and John R. Wooden All-America Team.

The four finalists were chosen by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors, which based selections on individual performances throughout the 2013 men's college basketball regular season. The winner of the Naismith Men's College Player of the Year Trophy presented by AT&T will be revealed April 7in Atlanta.

For the ninth consecutive year, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the player of their choice and help determine the 2013 Naismith Trophy winner. Beginning March 25 through April 6 fans can cast their vote by calling **VOTE (**8683).

Michigan, the No. 4 seed in the South Region, earned its first trip to the Sweet 16 in 19 years following victories over No. 13 seed South Dakota State, 71-56, and No. 5 seed VCU, 78-53. The Wolverines will now face Kansas matchup in Arlington, Texas, at the North Texas Regional Semifinal.
