U-M Draws Boston College in ACC/Big Ten Challenge

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The match-ups for the ninth annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge have been decided, and the University of Michigan men's basketball team will host Boston College on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Crisler Arena. The 8 p.m. game against the Eagles will be televised by ESPNU.

For the third consecutive year, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge will feature all 11 conference schools with games telecast on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. This year's challenge will be played on the Monday through Wednesday (Nov. 26-28) after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Highlighting the 2007 slate are the first-ever meeting between basketball powers Wisconsin and Duke, a rematch of last year's Ohio State-North Carolina Challenge game, and five first-ever Challenge meetings -- Boston College at Michigan, Georgia Tech at Indiana, Wake Forest at Iowa, N.C. State at Michigan State and Virginia Tech at Penn State.

Michigan is 3-3 all-time in Big Ten/ACC Challenges, with a 2-1 record at Crisler Arena. The Wolverines have faced Georgia Tech (1-1), Miami (Fla.) (1-0), N.C. State (1-1) and Wake Forest (0-1) in the six series games. The ACC has won the Commissioner's Cup all eight years of the Challenge series.

Michigan is 1-2 all-time against Boston College. The Wolverines first met the Eagles at the 1972 Holiday Festival in Madison Square Garden in New York, where U-M won 88-70 (Dec. 26). The Maize and Blue dropped its next two meetings with an 89-71 setback in Chestnut Hill, Mass. (Dec. 19, 1999) and an 83-74 loss at Crisler Arena (Dec. 1, 2001).
