ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- ESPN announced today (Monday, Aug. 8) the game times for the 2011 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, with the University of Michigan men's basketball team opening the event at Virginia on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
Overall, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3.com will combine to televise all 12 games of the two-day event.
Michigan has played in 10 of the 12 Challenge series and holds a 4-6 record. Last year, the Wolverines won their road contest at Clemson, 69-61, to help the Big Ten win its second straight Commissioner's Cup. Overall the ACC has won 10 of the 12 Challenge titles.
With the expanded 12-team field, if the Challenge ends in a tie (6-6), the conference winner will be determined by whichever conference won the Challenge in the previous season.
