BRISTOL, Conn. -- ESPN College Basketball GameDay will make its first trip to Ann Arbor when the University of Michigan men's basketball team hosts Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 18, the cable sports network announced today (Thursday, Aug. 11).
"College GameDay has continued to provide quality analysis, insight and features on the game of college basketball," said U-M head coach John Beilein. "It is an exciting opportunity for both our program and university to serve as host. With the Crisler Arena updates as well as the addition of the Player Development Center our fans, especially the Maize Rage, will be eager to provide an electric atmosphere. It's another very positive step in the rebuilding of Michigan basketball."
The match-up between the Wolverines and Buckeyes will tip off at 9 p.m. and be televised on ESPN as part of the Saturday Primetime game, which is called by Dan Shulman and Dick Vitale along with Erin Andrews as sideline reporter.
Beginning its eighth season, College GameDay features show host Rece Davis returning with analysts Jay Bilas, Digger Phelps, Hubert Davis and Bob Knight. The program concentrates on analysis, news and features for the college basketball season, including reports from Andy Katz.
ESPNU will air the first hour of College GameDay at 10 a.m., followed with ESPN continuing the second hour of coverage at 11 a.m. The GameDay lineup will air its third hour as part of the Saturday Primetime game at 8 p.m. before tipoff at 9 p.m.
The Wolverines are the only Big Ten team to be featured this season. Overall, Big Ten schools have hosted College GameDay eight times since the show began in 2005.
