ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball player Gavin Groninger (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield HS) and the Big Ten Conference Touring team have jumped out to a 3-0 start on their overseas journey, as the Big Ten has won by an average of 22.6 points.

The team arrived in London, England, Aug. 9 and played its first game on Friday, Aug. 10, against the Ealing Tornados Select. A strong showing in the second half led the Big Ten Tour team to its first victory over the Tornados, 110-83. Groninger finished the game with two points while going 1-for-12 from the field.

Groninger bounced back Saturday, Aug. 11, and exploded with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead to the team to a 98-66 victory over the Islington White Heat. At one point in the first half, he took the team on his back and connected on three straight three-pointers, and he hit four in the game as the Big Ten marked its second consecutive win in London.

The team played its third game on Aug. 12 and beat the London Towers 107-82. Groninger followed his stellar performance on Saturday with a solid 13-point, five-assist game vs. the Towers. His team-leading five points in the final quarter iced the victory, as the Big Ten team remained undefeated.
