CREMONA, Italy -- University of Michigan men's basketball center Amadou Ba (Mauritania, Africa/Bridgton Academy [Maine]) and the rest of the Big Ten Conference Foreign Tour team concluded an 11-day trip through France and Italy with a narrow 80-74 loss Thursday (Aug. 19) against the Cremona Basketball Club.

The Big Ten squad started in France where it tallied a couple of victories, 84-78 over the Frejus Basketball Club on Aug. 13, and a 103-68 drubbing of Marseille-Fos Basketball Club on Aug. 14. Ba scored two points with one rebound against Frejus, and had two points and six rebounds against Marseille-Fos.

The team then took a flight to Italy to complete its tour. It began with a 95-74 win over Marina Traviglia Basketball Club. Wisconsin's Clayton Hanson with 17 points and Michigan State's Delco Rowley with 14 points led the way while Ba had four points and two rebounds.

The tour concluded with two losses, first a tough one to UCC Assigelo, 95-93, as the host team hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to get the win. Ba had one point and two rebounds. The Big Ten concluded the tour with the loss to Cremona as Ba scored three points and pulled down four boards.
