Sept. 26, 2012
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball program announced all game times and TV designations for the 2012-13 regular-season schedule today (Wednesday, Sept. 26), in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference. All but one of Michigan's 30 regular-season contests will be broadcast nationally on CBS, an ESPN network or BTN.
Michigan will appear 11 times on BTN and will make two regularly scheduled appearances on CBS, with games at Crisler Center against Arkansas on Saturday, Dec. 8, and at Ohio State on Sunday, Jan. 13. The Wolverines also have the opportunity to increase their CBS total to five if they are selected as one of the CBS/ESPN/BTN wildcard games near the latter stages of the conference slate.
A total of 12 games will be aired on an ESPN network. For the second straight year, U-M will appear on ESPN's College GameDay with this season's match-up being hosted at Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 2. The Wolverines will also be featured twice on ESPN's Super Tuesday lineup with contests against Ohio State on Feb. 5 and at Michigan State on Feb. 12.
U-M could appear on ESPN five additional times if it advances to the championship round of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden in New York on Wednesday and Friday, Nov. 21-23, or is selected for one of the wildcard games.
Michigan will open the season with two exhibition games, against Northern Michigan on Thursday, Nov. 1, and Saginaw Valley State on Monday, Nov. 5. The regular season will begin against Slippery Rock on Friday, Nov. 9. All three games will be available through BTN.com.
