Petway Ineligible for Fall Semester, Will Sit Out Games

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball program has announced junior forward Brent Petway (McDonough, Ga./Griffin HS) will miss the fall semester of the basketball season due to academic ineligibility. Petway will be allowed to practice but cannot participate in games during the first semester.

"I am very disappointed in myself and I take full responsibility for this situation," said Petway. "I have let myself, my family, my teammates and this university down. I am working very hard to make sure I get back as soon as I can."

Petway has played in 62 career games with five starts. He averaged 5.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while shooting 60.4 percent from the field in his two seasons with the Wolverines.
