ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team will tip off the 2006-07 season with its annual Maize and Blue Scrimmage Saturday, Oct. 28, at Crisler Arena. The intrasquad action will start 30 minutes following Michigan's home football game against Northwestern, which is scheduled to kick off at noon.
Admission to the event is free of charge, and the concourse level entrances of Crisler Arena will open at 2:30 p.m. with the scrimmage tentatively scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start. Fans wishing to enter Crisler Arena early can watch the conclusion of the football game on Crisler Arena's Jumbotron.
Following the 20-minute scrimmage, the Wolverines will be available on the floor for autographs and photograph opportunities. Throughout the event, ticket giveaways and raffle prizes will be announced for fans in attendance.
The Maize and Blue will open its exhibition season against Wayne State Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. and close with a game against Michigan Tech Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. The Wolverines open the regular season by hosting the John Thompson Challenge Friday through Sunday, Nov. 10-12, at Crisler Arena. Michigan faces Central Connecticut State in the opening game Friday, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m.
